Who’s excited about the Summer Camp?

With just over a week to go players and coaches are getting excited about the Summer Camp. Some players are travelling from west of the country Wales and east of the country Norfolk to attend the West Midlands Performance Centre annual Summer Camp.

SIX weeksGuess coaches are lined up to for three out of the four weeks, each bringing their own individual skills and knowledge for the sessions they are running. So each week will be different. Although the sessions will cover singles, doubles movement and tactics, there will of course be technical training for techniques. At the end of the day players will walk away with better skill and techniques and more knowledge.

All this is hosted at the fabulous Sport and Fitness Centre, University of Birmingham, B15 7TT. Fabulous facilities and the main hall has 12 badminton courts.

Excitement is rising with 10 days to go. Although the deadline hascome and gone there are odd places left.

SIX weeks to go to the Summer Camp 2018

The WMPC Summer Camp 2018 is just over six weeks away…..Can you believe it….?SIX weeks

It has been almost a year since the August 2017 Summer Camp and now it is six weeks away. Hopefully you have got your places booked on to the three days of four weekly training sessions. Each day consists of four hours training, guaranteed to tier you out and make you ache………..BUT more than anything it as the PC’s logo say is ‘Where badminton players just get better’. So in six weeks time are you going to be there? If not why not? You do know it makes sense! Last year saw players from as far as Gwent, Norfolk, Lancashire and Essex. We have had at our Whitsun Camp, players from Cornwall and Wales so it must be good if they are coming back.

The PC releases details of the long awaited Summer Camp 2017

Summer Camp 2017This years Summer Camp 2017 promised to be the best yet. The main coaching/training sessions are four hours a day, four days a wee,k for three weeks during August. This intense program is put together by the head coach Lorraine Cole and will be assisted by several top class coaches, with equally high credentials. Some sessions will target, singles, doubles and mixed practices along with positional play and  tactics,

The Summer Camp 2017 will also provide other informational items during the week, including fitness programs and nutritional information.

Less than 2 weeks before the Summer Camp 2016 starts. Information was released in June about the summer camp for badminton enthusiasts who want to continue their badminton this summer.2 weeks
West Midlands Performance Centre hosts their annual four week programme for badminton players. This year guest coaches include Tracy Dineen and Fontaine Chapman. There sessions are not to be missed so book your places HERE. The four week  programme is looking crammed full of badminton ‘hints and tip’ to help you improve your game. With footwork to music, ‘S and C’ (strength and conditioning) and nutritional information for the more serious players. Plenty of routines, techniques, skills, tactics and games both singles and doubles for all.

Countdown of 4 weeks until the WMPC Summer Camp 2016 has started. Details were released last month about the badminton camp for all badminton enthusiasts who want to improve there badminton this summer. West Midlands Performance Centre hosts a four week programme for badminton players. Details of dates and times can be found HERE. All in all, the four week programme is looking crammed full of badminton stuff to help you improve your game. Such as With footwork to music, strength and conditioning and nutritional information for the die-hard players. Then of course badminton techniques, skills, tactics, routines and games both singles and doubles games for all. WMPC have invited a few guest coaches to vary the sessions a bit.

Are you ready for badminton training in Summer 2015

Details for the coveted Summer 2015 badminton training camp are almost here. Keep watching THIS space as numbers will be limited. These that attended last year will have first refusal and then on a first come first served basis. Summer 2015 training camp overs a FREE FORZA t-shirt for players who book and confirm a place before the deadline of Friday 17 July 2015. Coaches are writing the programme ready to build up levels of fitness, develop movement, technique and tactics of singles and doubles. Players will improve the skills, strengths, efficiency and power with a view to sharpening up during the summer 2015.

There will be footwork to music, shot skills incorporated into routines and of course match play to develop tactics. Under 11, Raw, Under 13, County, Developing, Emerging, University a and B squad players will be worked hard but fun sessions will mean theyl all enjoy the summer 2015 camp. Most of the benefits will be seen and felt most at the start of the new badminton season.

Summer Camps Nearly Full

With the Summer Camps being a big smash with the participants most of the remaining sessions are Full. The West Midlands PC urge those players who are interested to book ASAP to avoid disappointment. Once the session is full your name will be added to the waiting list.

Players have traveled from as far as Coventry, Leicester, Derby and even Norfolk. After the session the coaches give participants feedback on what areas to work on to help the player improve.

Summer Badminton Camp – Are you up for it?

Summer camp

West Midlands Performance Centre is running a Summer Badminton Camp for for weeks during August. As you know the badminton season runs September to April with a long break over the Summer. After the success of last years summer camp the PC are running another one.

This years camp is bigger and better. Guest coach Steve Butler (Ex-International player – Warwickshire coach) will taking sessions, along with Lorraine Cole, James Lauder and Stephanie Cartwright-Randle.

The camp is devised to build up the level of fitness starting with week 1 and tapering down the physical element as we approach week 4 which is the build up to the start of the season.
Though the groups players will develop their movement, technique, skills, fitness, strength, efficiency, power and tactics for both singles and doubles over the 4 week program. The program icludes sessions in the dance studio to develop movement skills to music ( fun session but also very physical). Skills will be practiced some will be incorporated into routines, along with match play developing tactics.

The WMPC summer camp aims to provide value training for a full month to prepare the players for the season ahead. MORE details and booking forms HERE.

West Midlands Performance Centre have release their Summer badminton program. This program caters for all levels of badminton players in the Midlands, for Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Birmingham and ALL surrounding areas. No matter what level of player you are, you can player Summer badminton throughout August. Full details of the Summer badminton program can be found HERE. Read the booking forms for more details of each level – U11s, RAW, DEVELOPING and EMERGING.
