West Midlands Summer 2019 Badminton Camp booking forms are now available. it will all be done on-line (fingers crossed all goes well).

So 12 days of badminton through August 2019. Three days a week for four hours a day. Lorraine Cole, Julia Quinn (nee Mann) will be writing the program for each day. Then of course delivering it to those that book on.

There are deadlines in place so unfortunately NO late comers and once the tickets are gone…. They will be gone.

EXCITEMENT –  42 HOURS before the Summer Camp starts.

48 hoursEnjoy your weekend while you can as Monday morning, August 7th 10.00am I will be there to see the start. West Midlands Performance Centre starts its three weeks, of four days a week and four hours a day training. Hope you are as excited as I am.

Lorraine Cole is not only working with Julia Mann (GB and England team squad coach) but has other guest coaches running sessions during the three weeks. Learn what to eat and when, how to warm up properly, mentally prepare yourself for an important match…..and much more.

The sessions are over eight courts in the new hall, at the University of Birmingham’s NEW sport and fitness centre. Impressive building with lots going on and a Costa coffee on site. Spend a little time get there early and have a look round. If you have not yet chosen which university you want to attend then see what is on offer.

THREE Weeks to go

Talking about top notch training Julia Mann, one Badminton England’s GB and England coaches will be leading the camp this year. So your training/coaching will be of the highest quality. Do you really want to miss this?………..NO! 

Some of the players who have booked on to the Camp are also making the most of their visit my entering the Senior Bronze Tournament. Enter the tournament HERE from the Badminton England site. Where you can enter ALL three disciplines (Singles, Doubles and MIXED). Alternatively enter the PC’s TEAM competition. Check out the website for details.
All of the events are being held at the University of Birmingham’s NEW sport and Fitness centre.

The PC releases details of the long awaited Summer Camp 2017

Summer Camp 2017This years Summer Camp 2017 promised to be the best yet. The main coaching/training sessions are four hours a day, four days a wee,k for three weeks during August. This intense program is put together by the head coach Lorraine Cole and will be assisted by several top class coaches, with equally high credentials. Some sessions will target, singles, doubles and mixed practices along with positional play and  tactics,

The Summer Camp 2017 will also provide other informational items during the week, including fitness programs and nutritional information.

1 weekLess than 1 week and it is here. In fact just a matter of days. The WMPC Summer Camp 2016 starts August 8th. Full details were released back in June for badminton enthusiasts who want to maintain their badminton over the summer.
West Midlands Performance Centre hosts their annual four week programme for badminton players. This year guest coaches include Tracy Dineen former England International player along with Fontaine Chapman current England International Player. Their sessions should not be missed. Sessions include footwork to music, ‘S and C’ (strength and conditioning) and nutritional information for the die hard players. West Midlands Performance Centre are hosting their annual four week programme for badminton players. This year the WMPC have invited a guest coaches varying the sessions delivery some.
All details including days, dates and times can be found HERE. The four week  programme is looking crammed full of badminton ‘stuff’ to help you improve your game. With footwork to music, ‘S and C’ (strength and conditioning) and nutritional information for the die-hard players. Of course there are badminton routines, techniques, skills, tactics and games both singles and doubles for all.

Badminton players book your summer Camp?

Summer camp details are now released so players book your place quick!

Long awaited dates for the West Midlands Performance Centre summer camp are HERE.

The WMPC summer 2015 camp aims to provide value training for a full month to prepare  players for the season ahead. Details HERE.

The camp will provide players with quality training and knowledge for the player’s relevant level and above. It is also devised to build up levels of the players fitness. Sessions not only develop their fitness but also their strength, efficiency and power.

Players will cultivate their movement around court, refine their shot techniques and learn and increase their tactical knowledge of singles and doubles.
Some sessions will be in the dance studio to develop their flow of movement to music. These are fun sessions but, also very physical. Skills are practised and incorporated into routines. Obviously players will participate in some match play to re-enforce any new tactics.

Finally player have lots of fun.

With the Summer Camps being a big smash with the participants most of the remaining sessions are Full. The West Midlands PC urge those players who are interested to book ASAP to avoid disappointment. Once the session is full your name will be added to the waiting list.

Players have traveled from as far as Coventry, Leicester, Derby and even Norfolk. After the session the coaches give participants feedback on what areas to work on to help the player improve.
