WMPC Times – Issue 1

Some of the term’s news and results are highlighted in the first West Midlands Performance Centre’s Newsletter the ‘WMPC Times’. The WMPC Times is written by its editor Peter Clegg. One of the coaches and players at the Performance Centre.

Talking to the players he takes their information and re-lives it on paper so that other members of the PC can join in their success.

Congratulations to all the players features in this first issue of the WMPC Times, on their achievements over the Autumn term.

If you have entered your first tournament OR had have your first success at a tournament, your experiences and you views on the competition and it results are items of interest to all. Then why not get them published in the WMPC Times.

Event for your Diary 2016-2017

2016-2017Players……! The 2016-2017 tournament dates are out.

2016-2017 list of West Midlands Performance Centre tournaments are out.The Performance Centre work hard behind the scenes to provide their players with at least one event they they can enter. Competing in these event provides the players with valuable experience where they can gain knowledge and put into practice what they have spent hours being coached. The 2016-2017 calendar has been agreed with Badminton England (their list will be published soon) but the PC have released their dates HERE. Take a look and get them in your dairy as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on valuable experience.

NOTE: that the Age Group changes starting from 1st July 2016 will apply to all of these event (see Age Group changes HERE).

Tournaments – Schedule dates are out

All members of the Performance Centre are expected to support our hosted tournaments by entering the relevant event. Details of all the tournaments hosted by the Performance Centre can be found HERE. Head coach Lorraine Cole, recommends all players that are serious about improving their badminton performance enter competitions as often as they can.

The events are open to any badminton player that wants to play competitive badminton and is looking to improve their standard of play. More information about the events can be found on the EVENTS page. All relevant details and entry forms can be found HERE.

Tournament details are released for the New Season

Badminton England Tournament details are released for the 2013-2014 Season.

Tournament entries are being taken for the 2013-2014 season. It is recommended that players get their tournament schedule planned. To avoid disappointment tournament entries should be submitted early. West Midlands Performance Centre head coach Lorraine Cole recommends a minimum of three tournaments a year. The Performance Centre is hosting four tournament and with local counties Warwickshire and Worcestershire hosting several similar events your tournament calendars can be easily be achieved.

Interested in participating in a little Monday Madness or even in Wacky Wednesdays?

Stephanie Cartwright-Randle the Development Office at the Performance Centre has organised some SUMMER HIOLIDAY BADMINTON FUN.  If your child or children are interested in having FUN over the Summer Holidays then why not send them along to ONE or a FEW of her sessions.  These sessions will be all about BADMINTON FUN.  Stephanie is interested in spreading the badminton word among kids and making sure they have some fun whilst playing the game.
