After the first season of the National Badminton League the Finals day is around the corner. The day boosts play-offs and a final, as the UK’s first ever professional team league comes to thrilling finale. The finals day makes first class live badminton a little more available than before.

First national badminton league

Britain’s first national badminton league will begin in October with new rules and a new format.

Here in Birmingham, at the University Lorraine Cole Head coach (at both the University and for the West Midlands Performance Centre) has had a great deal to do with the newly formed Birmingham Lions. The team entered in to the National Badminton League. The National Badminton League (NBL) starts in September this year where 6 teams will compete against each other.

National Badminton LeagueBadminton England are introducing a new format for the National Badminton League to make it more exciting. Details are yet to be finalised and released.

Leaks cause wet floors – Rain stops play

Leaks from the roof causes problems for the PC……!

The University of Birmingham have been having problems with leaks in the new gym, sports hall recently. Paul White (Liaison Officer for the PC) is warning parents not to just ‘ Drop’ their kids off at training tomorrow (Saturday 19 October).Leaks - Rain stops play

Parents are urged to check their emails before they set off to the Munrow Centre at the Uni. They make also be sure to come into the sports hall just incase the leaks  have not been fixed and the hall is not usable. The Uni staff are hoping to fix the leaks before the training session . The Uni staff will email Paul to confirm courts ok early doors. Then parents will be contacted hopefully before they set off.

Now that the exams are nearly over the second half of the Summer term sees the Performance Centre back to normal training sessions. For some it has been a long break. Others might have spent the summer half term revising for those exams.

Both tomorrow nights sessions (developing 17.30 till 19.30 and emerging 19.30 till 21.30), may be affected by the weather if we have more SNOW.
