As a Malaysian who has settled in the UK since 1975, I have a passion for the game of badminton which is the national sport of Malaysia. I still enjoy playing competitive badminton in various leagues in the Midlands area with my current club, Birmingham Bears.
I attained my Level 2 coach qualification in 2005. Since its inception in 1997, together with Phil Darlow and Glen Spencer, I have been coaching at the South Birmingham Junior Badminton (SBJB) club. As a popular and well known junior club in that area, we are delighted to have helped scores of youngsters improve and enjoy the game of badminton.
I am currently one of the coaches within the West Midlands Performance Centre, for youngsters who want to improve and develop their badminton skills to take it to the next level. It has given us great satisfaction to see many youngsters who have gone on to represent their counties and continue to play badminton in universities and beyond.
Over the years, I have taken coaching sessions at various schools, clubs and leisure centres within the west midlands area. On occasions I have given individual coaching sessions for players who requested for it.
